One of the lace groups that I belong to has been making hearts to share with hospital nurses - letting them know we appreciate them-

Tatting Heartfelt Thanks
A tatting facebook page I follow had an exchange of heart motifs between followers. There were several patterns offered
It was so much fun tatting different patterns. I practiced using different size picots, double picots and overlapping picots, dimpled hearts and different colors. Wanting to spread the love - I made some different motifs to give to the nursing staff on the heart wing at one of our local hospitals in appreciation of their work. The picture below is the card I created and attached the hearts. The nurses were pleased to be remembered.

IOLI Lace Convention 2018 - San Antonio
It was wonderful!!!
This was my first time to attend. Met lots of wonderful and talented ladies who do all sorts of lace. I took a class in Tonder with Bobbi Donnelly. She is a very good teacher - if you get the opportunity to take a class do it.
There were vendors with so many wonderful lacemaking supplies. It is so fun to shop when you can actually touch the merchandise -versus online shopping.
Seeing the beautiful laces was very inspiring.
There were silly moments - competitions - I won the Blindfolded Tatting Competition ! and another tatter and I teamed up ( never met her before) and we were the Team Tatting Champs. She used her right hand and I used my left and we tatted away.

Lace & Sparkle
My favorite type of lace is Buckspoint. Sally Smiddy has combined beautiful Buckspoint lace with flat sequins - hence Lace & Sparkle. She creates beautiful patterns (that are for sale) -her lace is exquisite.
