i love to make lace. The movement of the bobbins, the rhythm, and then the product -lace
It gives me such peace.
When I had the opportunity to visit in Brugge there was a bench in the garden with the following poem inscribed on it
A quiet mind melts out perfection
A sure hand travels to and fro
Serene beauty weaves itself around the pins
Oh Lord guide the bobbin of my life
Make all the pins I leave golden ones
And make the lace of my life a joy to behold

Milanese Worshop
It was great fun - the stitches are so beautiful. Louise Colgan is a accomplished lacer, skilled in teaching. I worked on the Milanese Moon learning the cathederal stitch, oval braid and improved in techniques on lace basics. Pattern by Louise Colgan, I also love the play of the colors of the thread. I look forward to making more pieces in Milanese. Another feature of the weekend was being with other lacers which inspire and encourage. The Lone Star Lacers were great hostesses! Thank you ladies.
